Dear Parents and Students,
The new school year is fast approaching, and will be here before we know it! On Tuesday, August 15th, Gilmer County High School will host an "Open House" from 5PM to 7PM for our incoming 6th graders. We understand the apprehension that comes with starting at a new school, and that's why we'd like to offer a warm invitation to join us at this special event designed to address your concerns and ensure a smooth transition.
During this event, you will have the opportunity to:
- Tour the school and locate your classrooms, helping you become familiar with the layout.
- Meet your teachers, allowing you to start building connections and easing any anxieties about the academic year.
- Get comfortable with locker combinations and find your designated locker, making the first day of school hassle-free.
Transitioning to middle school can be daunting for both students and parents, but we want to assure you that Gilmer County High School provides a positive, safe, and welcoming environment for everyone. We are excited to meet our newest Titans and look forward to supporting each student's journey!
See you there!

GCHS Summer Academy Update!
Throughout the week, attendees utilized cutting-edge GPS and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) techniques to map nearby trails located in Gilmer County. This ongoing project will extend into the following week and provide students with the opportunity to develop crucial skills such as teamwork, geographic literacy, and proficiency in GIS and other computer systems.
Additionally, students took part in outdoor activities that not only allowed them to get some fresh air and exercise but also contributed to the beautification of the campus. They dedicated their time to pulling out weeds from the rocks in front of the school, enriching the environment for all.
Finally, students enjoyed some well-earned rest and relaxation at the Lewis County pool. This outing provided the kids with an opportunity to unwind, enjoy recreational activities, and create lasting memories together.
Go Gilmer!

There will be no speed work/conditioning tonight due to 7-on-7 practice. If you are not participating in the 7-on-7, please continue mobility and condition work on your own.
