🎶 Under the direction of Ms. Brittany Koutsunis, Gilmer County Middle and High School Bands recently participated in the 2025 WVSSAV Region II Ratings Festival, and we are proud to share their outstanding results!
The Gilmer County Middle School Band earned two II’s and one I, receiving an overall rating of 2 – Excellent. This was their first year performing as a full group, and they delivered a truly impressive performance. It was an emotional and proud moment for all involved.
The Gilmer County High School Band earned two I’s and one II, receiving an Overall Rating of 1 – Superior. A superior rating is the highest award given at the festival! Their hard work, commitment, and talent were on full display.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to our parents, guardians, school staff, and the entire Gilmer County community for your continued support. And most importantly, thank you to our incredible students — we are so proud of you! 👏

We have some baseball and softball updates:
The middle school softball game at Wirt County has been canceled today, Tuesday, April 8.
The middle school baseball game for today, Tuesday, April 8 has ben canceled. The team will now play at Robert L. Bland on Friday, April 18 at 5:30 PM.
The high school softball game at Calhoun is cancelled for today, Tuesday, April 8. Gilmer will play Calhoun at home on Friday, April 11 at 5:00 PM.
Middle school baseball will play a doubleheader vs. South Harrison at home with a start time of 5:00 PM.
A middle school baseball home game has been added to the schedule for Wednesday, April 9 at 7:00 PM in Glenville, where GCHS will face Buckhannon. This game replaces the previously scheduled April 10 game at Buckhannon.

👑 Sign-ups for Prom Royalty are now open in the CIS office! The deadline to sign up is April 9, 2025.
💃 If you are bringing a guest from another school, you must complete the Non-GCHS Dance Guest Application and return it to the main office by April 7, 2025. Guests must provide a copy of his/her photo ID and attach it to the form. The night of the dance, the guest must bring the original ID with them for admittance to the dance.
