Seniors, graduation day is fast approaching!
Here is some important information about key upcoming events in the month of May:

Important notes:
📅The Senior Assembly will take place on May 21. You must be at the high school by 8:30 AM. We recommend that any relatives who will be attending be here by that time as well so that they can be seated when the ceremony begins.
🚌After the assembly, the busses will take you to the elementary school and the nursing home for a for a walk-through. It is encouraged, but not required, to wear your cap and gown for these festivities!
🍴You will enjoy a catered lunch at GSU before being bussed back to the high school. From there, you will need to arrange your own transportation to the WACO Center for graduation practice. The mandatory graduation practice will begin at 1:30 PM. You must participate in the practice in order to walk at graduation.
📅Graduation will occur on Friday, May 23 at the WACO center. You need to be there no later than 6:30 PM for line-up. Please be on time! Additionally, you must have your cap and gown to walk at graduation.
👕Please note that you must wear school-appropriate clothing underneath your gown as well as shoes at graduation.
🥇Honor tassels, cords, and medallions for honors, high honors, salutatorian, and valedictorian will be awarded at the senior ceremony. These may be worn with your cap and gown at graduation. Students may wear medallions, medals, stoles, or honor cords issued by any academic entity associated with Gilmer County High School. Students may wear any medallion, medal, stole, or banner from Girl Scouts/Boy Scouts, 4-H, and military. Please see the school handbook for more information.
