Last week, Mrs. Coombs and Mrs. Skinner’s class had a special visitor! Dawn Bailey brought a Blooming Christmas Tree chemistry craft where students watched liquid turn into crystal “trees.” 🌲✨ She also read a great book and passed out stickers. Such a fun and fascinating day of learning! #GoGilmer #LoveMyWVSchool

Students worked together to build the tallest and most creative cup towers they could. 🥤🏗️
Great job, Wildcats! #GoGilmer #LoveMyWVSchool

Lots of excitement in Mrs. Moyers and Mrs. Loudin’s Kindergarten class yesterday morning! Their classroom elf, Charley, made his big return from the North Pole. 🎅🎄
Former students even stopped by to say hi—they remembered Charley well!

🐾GCES Wildcats: Week At-A-Glance🐾

✨ Preschool Fun in the Kitchen! ✨ Our preschoolers had a butter-making adventure last week 🧈💛 With help from Daisy Bailey from the Extension Office, students shook, mixed, and giggled their way to homemade butter — just in time to enjoy it with our rolls! Thank you, Daisy, for such a fun and tasty hands-on experience! 🥖🤍

🦃🍿 First Grade Fun! 🍿🦃 Mrs. Allman (Mrs. Beall’s) and Ms. Stalnaker’s 1st grade classes had the best Thanksgiving-themed day! 🧡 Students made festive Thanksgiving placemats, watched Charlie Brown’s Thanksgiving, and enjoyed a fun little feast of popcorn, jellybeans, pretzels, and apple cider — just like the classic cartoon! 🎬✨ We loved seeing their creativity, smiles, and excitement. #GoGilmer #LoveMyWVSchool

🍽️💛 A Charlie Brown–Style Feast! 💛🍽️
Mrs. Moyers’ and Mrs. Loudin’s class enjoyed their very own Charlie Brown style feast today! Popcorn, snacks, big smiles, and lots of laughter around the table — just like in the classic Peanuts celebration. 😊🎉 #GoGilmer #LoveMyWVSchool

Our 5th graders earned a Dirty Soda Celebration for all their hard work—mixing up fizzy creations and lots of laughs 🎉
These Wildcats have been giving it their all, and we loved celebrating them in the sweetest (and bubbliest!) way! #GoGilmer #LoveMyWVSchool

🦃🍁 Happy Thanksgiving Break, Wildcat Families! 🍁🦃
Gilmer County Elementary School would like to wish all of our students, families, and staff a very Happy Thanksgiving Break! We are so thankful for our amazing Wildcat community and the joy your children bring to our school each day. 💙🤍
Before we head into the holiday, we wanted to share a fun highlight from this week — our Penny War boxes dressed as turkeys, adding a little extra excitement and laughter for our Wildcats. 🦃💰
We hope everyone has a safe, restful, and happy break.
Enjoy the time with family and friends — we’ll see our Wildcats back soon!
