The mission of the West Virginia Teacher of the Year Program is to recognize teachers of excellence. Recognizing Gilmer County's exceptional teachers brings honor to them and their profession. Teachers have an incredible, long-lasting impact on students, and Gilmer County is very proud to recognize Mrs. Tanya Stewart as our Teacher of the Year for Gilmer County Schools. She has also been recognized by the WVDE as being 1 of the 10 finalists for the 2023 West Virginia Teacher of the Year.
