At the July 13, 2026 Regular meeting of the Gilmer County Board of Education, members voted unanimously to adopt a resolution in support of the current "I Love West Virginia Public Schools" campaign launched by the West Virginia Association of School Administrators. With the resolution Gilmer County Schools resolved to "actively participate in the campaign by utilizing the district website, Facebook page, and other official communication platforms to share campaign information, correspondence, success stories, student accomplishments, and examples of the positive impact public schools have on the citizens of Gilmer County."
