I am writing to express my utmost gratitude and admiration for your commitment and relentless
efforts in nurturing our students and fostering a conducive learning environment within Gilmer County Schools. With great pleasure and pride, I announce our collective achievement in Gilmer County Schools, evidenced by the marked improvement in the West Virginia Accountability ratings. Moreover, our school district has successfully met all the requirements outlined in the efficiency indicators, indicating a significant leap forward in our educational endeavors.
I am proud to report that Gilmer County was not designated for support for any indicator, as the
West Virginia Department of Education reported in the West Virginia Department of Education Approval Status and Accreditation Memorandum sent by State Superintendent of Schools Michele L. Blatt. I do want to highlight the significant growth from 2022 to 2023. We are one of 20 counties with no support indicators and have turned to green on the WVDE Balanced Score Card Indicator Map.
This noteworthy accomplishment directly results from your perseverance, passion, and diligence in providing an exceptional educational experience for our students. Your hard work and dedication has played a pivotal role in realizing our shared vision of excellence.
