Congratulations to Mrs. Erica Dennison on being selected as the 2022-2023 GCES Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Dennison resides in Gilmer County with her husband, David, and two children, Reidyn and Callen.
Mrs. Dennison attended Glenville State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education: K-6, and a specialization in Early Education. Later, she acquired a master’s degree in Reading: PK-Adult. Mrs. Dennison is actively involved within the school where she currently serves on the GCES Leadership and Technology Teams, is chair for the Hiring Committee, serves as a Small Groups Mentor, and is the lead teacher for the first-grade PLC.
Mrs. Dennison is a dedicated first-grade teacher who brings high energy and a passion for teaching to her classroom. Her instructional strategies include a hands-on approach to learning, and student-led instruction. Mrs. Dennison stated, “I feel that students learn best when they are actively participating and taking a lead role in their work.”
